Carlos Bedoya

Position: Owner/Design Engineer

Handles all duties associated with Ownership. Consults with technicians on difficult repair jobs and develops custom guitar and amplifier modifications for LS Electronics customers.

Special Notes:
Ø 2002-2007: Design Engineer at SLM Electronics. Responsible for Vacuum Tube, Hybrid and Solid State Guitar and Bass Amplifiers under the Ampeg, Crate, and V-Series Brands.
Ø Earned both a BS and an AS degree in Electrical Engineering
Ø 1993-95 : Electronics Technician at McMurry Music
Ø Studied Music for 2 yrs with Bertram Ward at Florissant Valley Community College. Majored in Classical Guitar Performance
Ø Sang First Tenor in College Choir for 2 yrs.
Ø Started playing guitar and tinkering with electronics at age 14
Ø Has played in local St. Louis Cover Bands since 1990
Ø Has played guitar and sang in the Local St. Louis Cover Band “Ben Wah Bob” since 1995
Ø Fender Gold Level Technician for Electronics and Silver for Electric and Acoustic Guitar Repairs
Ø Authorized for repairs by over ninety manufacturers
Ø Over 20yrs experience repairing, building and modifying guitars and amps
Ø Guitar teacher at Williams Music House and Guitars & More Music for 5yrs

Tom Soehnlin

Position: Service Manager/Luthier

Handles all duties not performed by the owner or technicians. He is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the repair shop, technicians, deliveries and all customer/vendor interaction. He is also our on staff Luthier and Stringed Instrument consultant. If you need help or have a specific question, please feel free to call him.

Special Notes:
Ø Over 25 years experience repairing and building stringed instruments including orchestral stringed instruments.
Ø 1991-2006: Stringed Instrument Technician at McMurray Music/Brook Mays
Ø Authorized repair technician for 10’s of guitar manufacturers including Gibson, Taylor, and Ovation. Gold Level Technician for Fender Electric and Acoustic Guitars.
Ø 2000-2006: Member of local recording artist & performance band “Bluestreak”. Nominated for a Handy Award in 2004.
Ø Member of UK Blues Syndicate

Erik Fritz

Position: Senior Electronics Technician

Performs electronic repairs, service, updates, modifications, custom work, installations, design work, proto-type building and testing, for all types of audio equipment and test fixtures. Builds his own custom test equipment for maximum efficiency and reliability in performing repairs.

Special Notes:
Ø Graduated from North County Technical School under the Electronics Curriculum.
Ø Authorized for repairs by over ninety manufacturers
Ø Erik has been designing, repairing and building high end audio equipment for 23 years.
Ø Experience calibrating and setting up recording equipment for local area studios. Specialties in Reel to Reel recorders while working at Alpha Tech.
Ø Enjoys playing guitar and designing effects pedals.

Tony Sanfilippo

Position: Guitar Technician

Performs electronic and acoustic stringed instrument repairs, service, and updates.

Special Notes:
Ø Worked for 14 years at SLM Electronics where he was on the assembly line for 2 years and in the R&D department as a technician for 12 years.
Ø Has played guitar for 34 years. Plays bass guitar as well.
Ø Played in bands in the St. Louis area for a while, but prefers to fly airplanes now.

John Emery

Position: Receiving Specialist

Helps Service Manager with office duties. Handles all Pickup and Delivery service for Dealers and Customers. Maintains shipping department.

Special Notes:
Ø 1985-1993: Composed, recorded and toured with St Louis based Metal Blade Record Recording Artist “Anacrusis”
Ø Has played Bass Guitar since 1978
Ø 1989-1993: Peavey Equipment Endorsee
Ø 2003-2008: Performed with local St Louis cover band “Johnny Rock-itt & The Double Wide Symphony”

Scott Raymond

Position: Repair Tech

Performs all speaker, guitar and minor electronic repairs.

Special Notes:
Ø 10+ years touring experience as guitar technician with many different acts including Modern Day Zero, the Urge, and Hurt.
Ø Opening act support for many different national touring acts including Velvet Revolver, Hubastank, Stained, Trapped, 3 Days Grace, Alice in Chains and many others.
Ø Backline tech experience with BB King, Puddle of Mudd, the Beach Boys, Jefferson Starship and many others.
Ø Guitar center assistant manager for 5+ years.
Ø Guitar repair experience of 10+ years while touring, at guitar center and from his home repair shop.
Ø 3+ years experience as a speaker tech including full re-cone and re-foam services.
Ø 3+ years experience with full production systems for national acts with a local production company.
Ø Plays guitar for fun and likes doing Boy Scout activities with his son.

Jim Dieckmann

Position: Senior ElectronicsTechnician

Performs electronic repairs, service, updates, modifications, custom work, installations, design work, proto-type building and testing, for all types of audio equipment and test fixtures. Builds his own custom test equipment for maximum efficiency and reliability in performing repairs.

Special Notes:
Ø Over 17 years experience calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and designing electronic circuits and devices
Ø Over 13 years experience in Musical Instrument Amplifier Design and Manufacturing at Ampeg and Crate. Duties included Automated Test Equipment Programmer & Production Support Technician and R&D Technician.
Ø Designed and built ATE test fixtures for Ampeg & Crate Assembly lines.
Ø Graduated from St Louis Community college with an AAS in Electronic Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering Technology.
Ø Graduated from North County Technical School under the Electronics Curriculum.

Barry Edmondson

Position: Electronics Technician

Performs electronic repairs, service, updates, modifications, custom work, installations, proto-type building and testing, for all types of audio equipment and test fixtures.

Special Notes:
Ø Graduated from DeVry Technical School with a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.
Ø
Over 15 years experience calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, electronic circuits and devices.
Ø Over 10 years experience in Musical Instrument Amplifier Manufacturing at Ampeg and Crate. Positions and duties included R&D Technician, Production Support Technician and Service Technician.

Andrew Derbak

Position: Lesson Coordinator

Handles all educational programs and marketing for LS Electronics. He is responisble for the overall operation of the studio. If you have any questions about the lesson program, any special programs being offered, or comments about the studio, please feel free to contact him.

Ø Associate of Arts in Music from St. Charles Community College, 2005.
Ø B.A. in Business Management and Minor in Audio Production from Webster University, 2009.
Ø Plays with local band He Who Dredz since 2005.
Ø Studied both Classical and Jazz Guitar while in school.
